Gems Hospital, Mavelikkara, was dedicated to serve the public on
1 st March 1982. The hospital then had only two doctors and a
few staff. Today, almost 20 years after its formal inauguration,
the Hospital has grown to 150 - bed capacity, with a staff
strength of more than 13 doctors including consultants and
specialists, and about 70 constituting the nursing and
paramedical staff. Lakhs of patients have already been treated
and cured during the course of the eventful history of the GEMS
Hospital.
Over one crore rupees has recently been spent for its
modernization, expansion of premises, and acquisition of
important medical and surgical equipment.
