After a brief absence due to technical as well as logistic
difficulties, free medical camps were revived in 1997. This time
every effort was made to publicise and promote the importance of
such camps, in delivering preventive, curative and
rehabilitative care. As a result, there has been overwhelming
public participation in these camps which are now being
conducted four times a week in various places. The mobile clinic
of GEMS Hospital has rendered free medical aid to lakhs of
people in and around Mavelikkara for the past twenty years.
